CHORO TREK

(FROM LA CUMBRE TO COROICO)

"ElChoro" is the most popular trek in Bolivia, located in the Cotapata National Park. It is an ancient Inca trail with enchanting scenery. This trek begins more than 15,400 feet above sea level and descends to 4,000 feet. The trip allows one to imagine the thousand-year-old history of the Tiwanaku, Mollo, and Inca cultures.

Brief description of the trek

DAY 1 (Travel to the Cumbre and hike to Challapampa)

We will set out on our journey at 8:00 in the morning, in private transport, to travel to"La Cumbre" (Summit) at 15,255 feet above sea level. We will hike about 20 minutes to reach the Apacheta (sacred rock pile) at 15,419 feet. Once we arrive at the top, the rest of the trek is entirely downhill, arriving in about 7 hours at the camping area in Challapampa, at 9,600 feet in altitude.

DAY 2 (Hike from Challapampa to San Francisco o Sandillani (JapaneseGarden)

After breakfast, we will resume our trek by trails with abundant vegetation, passing by cristal-clear waterfalls and thrilling hanging bridges, while admiring natural beauty difficult to equal, with a temperatures above 68 degrees Fahrenheit.

Depending on our rate of progress we will be able to camp in either the village of San Francisco or Sandillani (Japanese Garden)

DAY 3 (Hike to Chairo and travel to Coroico)

After breakfast, we will set out on the last part of the trek to the community of Chairo (end of the trek), where we will find transportation to Coroico.

This tour includes:

• Private transport from La Paz to "La Cumbre"
• Local transport from Chairo to Coroico and the return trip to La Paz
• All meals are included during the tour.
• Camping equipment (tent and mattress)
• Professional tour guide and porter.
